Privacy notice
In short: we only collect what we need, we never sell it, and what you say in therapy stays confidential.
Who we are
This website, www.talkingcureworks.com, is run by Talking Cure Works Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17559133), registered office 105 Lennard Road, London BR3 1QR. Talking Cure Works Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described here. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration number [ICO NUMBER].

What information we collect

- Your name, email address, phone number and anything you choose to tell us in your message.
- If you become a client
- Your contact details, your GP's details, an emergency contact, session notes, appointment and payment records, and any information about your health and wellbeing that you share during therapy.
- When you visit the website
- Basic, anonymous information about how the site is used. See our cookie notice for details.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Information about your health and wellbeing is “special category” data. We process it because it is necessary to provide health and social care by a professional bound by confidentiality, or, where appropriate, with your explicit consent.
Confidentiality
What you say in therapy stays confidential. The exceptions are rare: if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, if the law requires us to share information (for example, a court order or concerns about terrorism or the safety of a child), or if you ask us to share it. Where possible, we will talk to you first.
Your therapist discusses their work with a clinical supervisor, but never shares your name or anything that would identify you.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information or use it for marketing. We use a small number of trusted services to run the practice and the website, and they only process your information on our instructions:

- Website hosting: Cloudflare
- Spam protection on the contact form: Cloudflare Turnstile — checks you’re a real visitor, not a bot
- Sending the contact form to Matt: Resend — delivers your enquiry by email; it is not stored anywhere else
- Website analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics — see our cookie notice; it does not collect personal data
- Accountant, for financial records only
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to therapy: deleted within 6 months.
- Client records and session notes: 7 years after therapy ends, as recommended by our insurers, then securely destroyed.
- Financial records: 6 years, as required by HMRC.
Keeping it safe
Notes and records are stored securely with password protection and encryption. Sessions take place on a secure video platform, and we never record them.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it by law or for insurance
- object to or ask us to limit how we use it
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
